USCIS note: Answers will vary. [District of Columbia residents should answer that D.C. does not have a Governor.]
Our explanation
A governor is in charge of a state’s executive branch. Each of the 50 states has a governor. Washington, D.C., is not a state, so D.C. residents should answer that D.C. does not have a governor.
Remember it
A governor leads a state, like the President leads the country.
