2008 test · Question 23 of 100
Name your U.S. Representative.
Depends on where you live
The answer is different for each state, for D.C., and for each U.S. territory. Look up the answer for the place where you live.
Coming up on November 3, 2026: House elections everywhere except Puerto Rico. This may change the answer in those places. Check again before your interview.
USCIS note: Answers will vary. [Residents of territories with nonvoting Delegates or Resident Commissioners may provide the name of that Delegate or Commissioner. Also acceptable is any statement that the territory has no (voting) Representatives in Congress.]
Our explanation
Each state is split into areas called districts. Each district elects one House member. Your representative depends on where you live. Territory residents may name their nonvoting Delegate or Resident Commissioner, or say the territory has no voting representative.
Remember it
Your address decides your district and your representative. Look up the name at house.gov.
