2025 test · Question 45 of 128
Who appoints federal judges?
Answers from the USCIS list
Give this answer. Words in light (parentheses) are optional.
- The President optional: (of the United States)
Our explanation
Federal judges are not elected. The President nominates (chooses) a person, and the Senate must approve that person. The Founders wanted judges to decide cases by the Constitution, not by politics.
Remember it
The President picks the judge; the Senate says yes or no.
